Why were Walkers removed from entering the Race?
We understand that this decision may be disappointing, but after much consideration, we have decided to remove walkers from the race. We are constrained by a 6-hour time limit for closed road status with the town of Picton, and unfortunately, in recent years, our walkers have exceeded this time frame. This poses a safety hazard to our athletes as roads reopen and local traffic resumes. Our race organizers work diligently to clear the space after the 6-hour mark, and adhering to this time frame is crucial. Please know that this decision was not made lightly.
